Install
Put thisweek on your home screen
It installs from the browser you already have. No app store, no download. It opens full screen with its own icon, and a list you've opened keeps working when the signal drops in the store.
Find your browser below — every phone browser has its own way to do this, and none of them is called the same thing.
iPhone & iPad — Safari
- Open thisweek.food in .
- Tap the button — the square with an arrow coming out of the top.
- Scroll down the sheet that appears and tap .
- Tap in the top right. The thisweek icon lands on your home screen.
The option lives in the Share sheet, so it is easy to miss — there is no banner or button on the page itself.
iPhone & iPad — Chrome, Firefox, Edge
- Open thisweek.food in that browser.
- Open the browser's own menu — in Chrome, in Firefox, in Edge.
- Tap , then .
On iPhone every browser installs the same app the same way; if the menu has no such item, open the page in Safari and use its Share sheet instead.
Android — Chrome
- Open thisweek.food in .
- Tap the menu in the top right.
- Tap .
- Tap on the prompt that follows.
If Chrome offers its own banner or shows an install icon in the address bar, either one does the same thing.
Android — Samsung Internet
- Open thisweek.food in .
- Tap in the bottom right.
- Tap , then .
- Tap .
Android — Firefox
- Open thisweek.food in .
- Tap the menu in the top right.
- Tap — older versions call it .
- Confirm with .
Firefox only offers this on sites it can install, so the item is absent on a page it cannot.
Android — Edge, Opera, Brave, others
- Open thisweek.food in your browser.
- Open its menu and look for , or .
- Confirm with or .
Anything built on Chromium installs the app; the wording of the menu item is what differs.
Desktop — Chrome, Edge, Brave
- Open thisweek.food in Chrome or Edge.
- Look for the icon at the right-hand end of the address bar — a screen with an arrow — and click it.
- Or open → → .
- Click . It opens in its own window, with its own dock or taskbar icon.
Desktop — Safari on macOS
- Open thisweek.food in .
- Choose → from the menu bar.
- Click .
Safari 17 (macOS Sonoma) and later. On an older macOS, keep the page in a pinned tab instead.
After you install
- Tap the icon and thisweek opens without a browser address bar.
- Nothing was downloaded to your phone's app store, and nothing needs updating — the app is always the live site.
- Sign in before you install if you want your lists waiting inside it. A list you started without an account lives in this browser, and signing in is what moves it into the app.
- Uninstalling is the same as any other icon: press and hold it, then remove it. Your lists stay on your account.
