Mealime shut down on October 21, 2026
Mealime’s notice sends you to Meals Hub inside Albertsons store apps and websites. Its public recipe pages were still reachable when we checked. thisweek turns the recipes you already cook into one aisle-sorted list your household can share, at any store. Paste a link, or photograph the page.
What happened
The collection moved to Meals Hub — the Mealime catalog plus thousands more, free. Mealime’s shutdown notice has the details.
Meals Hub lives inside Albertsons Companies grocery apps and store websites: Safeway, Albertsons, Vons, Jewel-Osco, ACME, and Shaw’s, under More. It works if you shop elsewhere too — you can plan a week and build a list without an Albertsons store near you — but the app you open belongs to a retailer, and so does the plan.

Your two real options
You can carry the recipes you cook over either way, by hand. The real choice is how you plan the week, and whether your grocery list is tied to one store.

Carrying over the recipes you actually cook
There's no export — start with the recipes you actually cook
Mealime's closing notice describes no export for saved recipes or plans, so this is a carry-it-over-by-hand job. Mealime says the app was discontinued as of October 21, 2026, and the public recipe pages were still up when we checked — which is where the rest of these steps happen.
Open the recipe on mealime.com and copy its link
Most Mealime recipes also have a public page. Open the ones you cook and copy the address from your browser.
Paste the link into thisweek
Paste it into a new list and it becomes a recipe with its ingredients. Repeat for the handful you cook most — you don't need all of them.
No link? Photograph the page
For a cookbook, a printout or a recipe that was only ever in the app, photograph the ingredients and thisweek reads them into the list.
The place to start is Mealime’s recipe index, which was still up when we checked on October 24, 2026. Skip the one-at-a-time part.
Carrying over a whole page at once
The thisweek extension for Chrome reads a page of Mealime’s recipe index in one go. Open the page, click the extension, and it shows you every recipe it found — titles, pictures, ingredient counts — before saving anything.
Press the button and they go into your favorites a few at a time, so a dropped connection costs you one batch rather than the lot. Anything already saved is skipped, so running it again adds nothing twice. The index runs to 68 pages, and one click covers one page.

Questions people are asking
Is Mealime shutting down?
It has. Mealime's closing notice says it was discontinued as of October 21, 2026, and its site still carried the shutdown banner when we checked on October 24, 2026. Its public recipe pages were still reachable that day.
When did Mealime shut down?
October 21, 2026 — that date has passed. Mealime's notice says its paid subscriptions wound down before the shutdown, and that Pro recipes and features became free for all Mealime users.
What is Meals Hub?
Meals Hub is where Mealime points you now. It is free, it carries all the Mealime recipes plus thousands more from the same team, and it lives inside Albertsons Companies store apps and websites — Safeway, Albertsons, Vons, Jewel-Osco, ACME, Shaw's, Tom Thumb and others. You reach it by tapping More in one of those apps. You can still plan and build a list there when no Albertsons store is near you — the app is a retailer's, but the shopping does not have to be.
Can I export my Mealime recipes and meal plans?
No. Mealime's closing notice describes no export for saved recipes or plans, so carrying them over is a job you do by hand. Most Mealime recipes also have a public page on mealime.com — open the ones you cook, copy the link, and paste it into thisweek. Its notice says personal data is deleted when the app is shut down, so the sooner you copy, the better.
Can I import my Mealime recipes in bulk?
Not all at once, but not one at a time either. Mealime's public recipe index still runs to 68 pages, and with the thisweek extension installed, one click on an index page reads every recipe link on that page, shows you what it found, and saves them to your favorites. Anything you already saved is skipped. Mealime's closing notice describes no export of your account, so there is no file to hand over in one go.
What is a Mealime alternative that isn't tied to one store?
thisweek. Paste a recipe link, or photograph a cookbook page, and it builds an aisle-sorted shopping list you can share — at whatever store you shop. If you would rather keep using Mealime's recipes inside an Albertsons app or website, Meals Hub is the official continuation.
Free to start, no store required.
